    I was wondering if anybody knows of any good books on old jewish culture?

    I'm not exactly sure myself. The reason that I'm wanting to do research on it is because there are some prophecies that don't seem like they came true with Jesus, and I think the reason I might think this way is because I don't know their culture. I'm thinking God spoke to them in the language of their culture to help them understand this stuff. That would be commen knowledge to me.
