The statewide midterm elections were not kind to the GOP in Minnesota this month, but take a look at the map of the last three presidential elections.

    IMG_20181118_124603.jpg
That little blue island in SE Minnesota is the county that contains Rochester, MN, home of the Mayo Clinic and third largest city.

Minnesota has not gone Republican for president since Nixon in 1972 and it was famously the only state that Mondale (favorite son) carried in 1984.

    But it's becoming Trump country.

Will Minnesota be a tossup state in 2020 elections?

Doesn't look like it now. BOTH U.S. Senate seats and 5/8 House elections went for the Democrats in the 2018 elections.

In other Minnesota news, the governor was hospitalized for a month. Virtually no one knew this and he was not missed.

Still at Mayo after surgery on his back, he hopes to be home by Thanksgiving.

I wonder who controlled the Minnesota state legislature, both House and Senate from 2013 to 2015?
    Democrats.

I wonder who controlled the Minnesota state legislature, the House, from 2015 to 2017? Republicans.

I wonder who controlled the Minnesota state legislature, both House and Senate from 2017 to 2019?
    Republicans.

    Noticing a trend?

After the recent midterms there is only one state in the United States that has a split legislature. Google it and let me know which one it is.
