Operation Choke Point: Fascism in the federal government

You may have heard a little bit about “Operation Choke Point” in the news, although main stream media tends to ignore outrageous overreaches of government. It’s a program that seeks to shut down businesses the government doesn’t “like” based on political and personal bias. They tend to be hitting gun store owners and others who are in the firearms business.

What does Operation Choke Point do exactly? Regulators will go into a bank to review their customers. If there are customers the regulator doesn’t tend to agree with (say the regulator is an anti-2nd Amendment ammophobe), they will tell the bank that specific account is going to draw a lot more scrutiny than their “regular” accounts.

This causes banks to simply drop the accounts because they don’t want regulators breathing down their necks even more than they already do. What does this cause? Gun shop owners like Mike Shuetz to sometimes temporarily close down while they find a bank that will do business with them.
