I will be a donor. It's even indicated on the back of my driver's license in case of an accident and I perish

Absolutely! Same as Gib, I have my driver's license that indicates I want to be a donor and my family already knows my wishes.

Absolutely! If my old organs can give someone hope, I am all for it. I wonder if the recipient develops an English accent!

    Cheers,

    Jim

    You never know [IMG]

I developed a strong craving for peanut M&Ms after mine. Needless to say, they are my donors favorite candy. I hated the peanut part before but after I got out of the hospital I had horrible cravings for them. Weird huh!

I have heard of such things, FBC, especially from heart-transplant patients.

    Cheers to you, and blessings,

    Jim

  9. I've been one ever since I got my license. I have been giving blood for 20 years since I was in the CCC. I am a bone marrow donor. I think that covers it. I have already decided to be cremated.

Hey how is God going to resurrect ALL that ?

CCC? As in Civilian Conservation Corps? I may be way off but I was just wondering because my Grandpa was part of it when he was young.

  11. Yeah something like that. It is called California Conservation Corp which I was told was based off the one you mentioned.

So does anyone know how God is going to get all my organ parts and my cremated body back to heaven. Makes you wonder at the almightys works doesn't it ?

RFW, I think if you scattered every ash of yourself all over the globe it wouldn't be difficult for God to bring it all back together again. [IMG] I don't know how but then again I ain't God.

I have no problem being a donor but I do seem to be wearing them out faster and faster. I told my wife that I only had one condition about donating organs and that is that she must make absolutely for certain that I am done with them.

Although I am told that my [IMG] is in mint condition...since it is obviously rarely used.

Now as far as organ donation, I used to have it indicated on my license. But, a few years back, I was told that I couldn't be a donor. Don't really know why...never really asked for a reason. Can't be because I'm diabetic or have had blood transfusions, could it?

I'm already a potential donor. I'm on the national kidney and bone marrow donor list. Which means I could get a call any day telling me that someone needs my kidney or bone marrow.

Plus, I give blood religiously, every 2 months, whether I need it or not. I'm O-pos, the most popular blood type.

My license is marked to allow my organs to be donated upon my death. Why not? It's not like I'm going to need them anymore.

John, I'm O pos myself, as is my wife. Right now I only have half the blood volume that I need, so I can't donate blood...but I could sure use some...fill'er up! [IMG] [IMG]

    I'll send some right over.

Speak of which, the Mrs and I donated last week as a local blood drive. She called me at work to remind me, saying "Don't forget, we're giving blood", to which I replied, "oh, do we have an appoinement with the IRS?"

Could be they're concerned about blood transfusions if you were in an area where AIDS or mad cow would be a problem.

    But don't worry, I'm sure you're fine! :D

I'm listed as a donor and donate blood regularly.
