Our connection with the Lord

    GRAB YOUR BIBLES Hebrews 10:22-25
    ==============
    Today my message is going to be about....our connection with the Lord!
    ==============
    LETS READ THE TEXT Hebrews 10:22-25
    ==============
    Our Spiritual connection with the Lord....becomes more and more important:
    As the Lord return to Earth....gets closer:
    (Because of the explosion of wickedness....we are seeing!)
    ==============
    V.22A “Let us draw near with a true heart”
    -ONE OF THE PURPOSES....OF BEING SAVED-
    (To have...real fellowship with God:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE KIND OF SINCERITY....THE LORD WANTS FROM US-
    Having....... “a true heart”:
    Is being honest....with yourself about your sin.
    ==============
    V.22B “in full assurance of faith,”
    -THE KIND OF FAITH....THE LORD WANTS US TO HAVE IN HIM-
    (“Unconditional”:)
    Not allowing anything to cause us to doubt:
    --------------------------------------------------
    Unconditionally rusting God....and His Word!
    ==============
    Go to James 4:8
    “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners;
    and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.”
    -OUR PERSONAL SIN...........EFFECTS OUR FELLOWSHIP WITH THE LORD-
    (Because God hates sin:)
    ----------------------
    We must have clean hands & clean hearts!
    --------------------------------------------------
    Note: The reasons I came here:
    Is because of the next two points in Hebrews!
    ==============
    V.22C “having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,”
    -WE MUST HAVE..... “A SPIRITUALLY CLEAN HEART”-
    (That is set apart unto God:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Giving the Lord...complete control of our heart!
    ==============
    V.22D “and our bodies washed with pure water.”
    -WE MUST HAVE.....A SPIRITUALLY CLEAN BODY-
    (That is set apart unto God:)
    Giving God control of our body:
    --------------------------------------------------
    Note: This is what Paul was doing:
    In 1Corinthians 9:27
    When he was bringing...his body under subjection!
    “But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means,
    when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
    ==============
    V.23A “Let us hold fast”
    -ONE OF THE SIDE EFFECTS..........OF THIS COMMITMENT TO THE LORD-
    (We are able.....to hold on to the Lord:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Although we don’t have to....”hold on” to Him:
    During certain times in our life....we want to:
    ------------------------
    And the way we.....hold on to the LORD:
    Is by dealing with our sin!

    V.23B “the profession of [our] faith”
    -THE ACTUAL PART OF GOD.....THAT WE ARE HOLDING ON TO-
    (Our profession of faith:)
    The day we got saved!
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE POINT....WHERE WE ARE CONNECTED TO THE LORD-
    The statement of faith....that we made:
    See Romans 10:9,10
    V.9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
    and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
    thou shalt be saved.
    V.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
    and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    ------------------------
    Our profession of faith.....is the only thing from us:
    That actually.....connects us with the Lord!
    ==============
    V.23C “without wavering;”
    -OUR RESPONSIBILITY.....IN THIS CONNECTION-
    (Not to waver....in our faith:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Although this connection is....unbreakable:
    Our sweet fellowship with the Lord....isn’t!
    ==============
    V.23D “(for he [is] faithful that promised;)”
    -PLACING OUR TRUST....IN GOD’S WORD TO US-
    (Our Bible:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE ATTITUDE WE SHOULD HAVE....TOWARD THE BIBLE-
    We shouldn’t worship the Bible:
    But it does have a place...in our connection to God;
    ------------------------
    It is...our only record of “God’s promises”!
    ==============
    V.24A “And let us consider one another”
    -A BIG PART.....OF GOD’S PLAN FOR OUR LIFE-
    (Our relationship to other Christians:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    We should love one another:
    Just like family!
    ==============
    V.24B “to provoke unto love”
    -OUR 1st MINISTRY....OTHER CHRISTIANS-
    (To encourage them.....to love us:)
    And one way we do that....is be being lovable:
    --------------------------------------------------
    Making it easy for them....to love us!
    ==============
    V.24C “and to good works:”
    -OUR 2nd MINISTRY....OTHER CHRISTIANS-
    (Encouraging them....to put the Lord 1st:)
    By being truthful to them...about their sin:
    Qt. Proverbs 27:5
    “Open rebuke [is] better than secret love.”
    -----------------
    It’s our job...to correct our brothers & sisters!
    ==============
    V.25A “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,”
    -GOD’S PLAN....FOR OUR MINISTRY TO HIS CHURCH-
    (For all of us....to assemble together:)
    “In Church!”
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE BIG QUESTION.....THAT ALWAYS SEEMS TO COME UP-
    How often do we need to assemble?
    ------------------------
    I have always said.... “when ever the doors are open”:
    And that is still the truth!
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE ATTITUDE WE SHOULD HAVE....TOWARD THE LOCAL CHURCH-
    We shouldn’t....worship our Church:
    But it does have a place...in our connection to God;
    -----------------------
    And it’s also.......God’s only connection with the world!
    -------------
    Note: Every ministry to the unsaved:
    Must be....in or through a local Church:
    -------------
    Because that is God’s plan!
    ==============
    V.25B “as the manner of some [is];”
    -THOSE THAT ARE CUT OFF......FROM THIS MINISTRY-
    (Those who chose....not to attend:)
    ------------------------
    The choice...is always up to us:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -“ONE” PROOF......THAT IS IN THE PUDDING-
    There are many factors:
    That measure....a Christian’s faithfulness:
    ------------------------
    And one of those factors...is “Church attendance”!
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE TWO SIDES.......OF THIS COIN-
    ------------------------
    ➀ Every Spiritually “unhealthy” Christian:
    That I have ever encountered:
    Did not make Church attendance....a priority!
    ------------------------
    ➁ But...faithful Church attendance:
    Doesn’t guarantee a faithful Christian!
    ----------
    Some of the most hateful and ungodly people:
    Are in Church....every time the doors are open:
    ----------
    But not in any “Church”...that “preaches” the Bible!
    ==============
    V.25C “but exhorting [one another]:”
    -BEING BLUNT TO ONE ANOTHER..........ABOUT CHURCH ATTENDANCE-
    (Because it’s so very important:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    "Yes....we love you even if you miss some services:"
    "But we want you to know...what you are missing!"
    ==============
    V.25D “and so much the more,”
    -MAKING CHURCH ATTENDANCE.....A HIGHER PRIORITY-
    (Just in...the nick of time:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    When wickedness & deception:
    Is reaching it’s peak!
    ==============
    V.25E “as ye see the day approaching.”
    -THE CATCH 22.....OF OUR SPIRITUAL EYESIGHT-
    (When it comes to Church attendance:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    ➀ The Lord’s return is getting closer:
    (So you need to be in Church more often:)
    ------------------------
    ➁ But missing Church services...can cause you:
    (To forget...that the Lord’s return is getting closer!)
