Curious as to how many people here look up to our founding fathers as devout Christians? I'm not so sure that the situation is exactly as alot of people believe. Apparently alot of them weren't Christian at all, they were Deists, basically believing in God but not believing in Jesus being devine. Plus, they drank alot. George Washington was one of the biggest dark beer lovers in all of history. Benjamin Franklin once said "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants to see us happy" (although he wasn't a heavy drinker, but I do like that quote). Thomas Jefferson was probably the most outspoken Deists of all of them, he had an awesome wine collection, he brewed his own beer, and had sex with his slaves. Last but not least, they were escaping religious persecution and wanted religious freedom for everyone. I just don't understand how I can read historic facts like this then see people who genuinely believe that these same people were all devout Christians and wanted Christianity in our government. I'm guessing that people WANT this to be the case, but from what I can tell, it wasn't.

I don't know how much of what you say is true or not.

    This much I DO know.

No True Christian would lead a rebellion against their government.

Do a word search on rebellion.

    God NEVER approves rebellion.

So if they did, they weren't really a Christian? Or did they lose their salvation when they decided to join the rebellion? Therefore using your definition of "Christian", noone who fought the British were Christians. Interesting.

So I guess all the southerners were lost because they rebeled against the federal government, and not to be forgotten are all the slaves that rebeled against their masters - they're all burning in hell, those rebels!
