i am starting to familiarize myself with OpenOffice.org to become good user of it, and hope to replace most MS Office-dependent projects with that free software. OpenOffice however, does not come with an e-mail program, like that of MS Outlook.

There is, however, the Outlook Express, to which i have no experience with. Would Outlook Express do all the things i need for e-mail sending? any other programs?

Outlook Express is a 'great' program for downloading and reading E-mail.

However, It does not have all the 'Organizer' features that Outlook has.

I am not sure, also, if you can access an Exchange Server based E-mail.

But, for 'simple' E-mail Outlook Express is quite adequate.

Make sure you are running good and up to date virus protection for either one of those. In the past few months I have seen about 20 viruses written to take advantage of Outlook.
