Pastor's house burnt. It was a God-given miracle that Pastor and the 3 month old baby survived unhurt. Pastor was sick with a cold and taking a nap, and so was the baby, he was babysitting while Mom teaches Christian school. When he awoke, the house was totally full of smoke and he had a hard time finding the baby's crib in the smoke.

We are having a chili dinner fund raiser this Friday night. Pray that it is a success, since they had no renter's insurance and lost almost everything either to water or smoke damage. The house belongs to one of our church members and she had it fully insured, pray that the insurance company totals it so she can rebuild.

We are so thankful to hear that the family was safe and we will be praying that
the insurance will cover the cost of the damage from the fire.
May the chili dinner fund raiser bring a substantial amount of monies for this
    pastor and family.

Thank the Lord the baby is ok....things can be replaced, but the loss of that baby would have been devestating!

Yes, we praise God that the baby was checked out at the hospital
and is a-ok...no smoke inhalation, which is indeed a miracle for
her tiny lungs. Pastor said that when they went back later, everything
in the nursery was black except the spot where Ava was lying in the crib!
The hand of God....I know it was.

We had a very good turnout for the chili supper and silent auction last night. Even about 25 people from another Baptist Church showed up. The Fire Chief (who belongs to our church) presented Pastor with what he called a "fire trophy" - one of Pastor's baseball bats that was partially burnt in the fire, mounted on a trophy board. It was good to smile - Pastor's dog Amos died too. Enough, we figure.....time to move on.

Thanks for your prayers. We raised a goodly amount for their use in replacing some of what they lost. :godisgood:
