First degree murder all the way...seems pretty open and shut compared to what I was thinking it would be. Very sad for all involved..esp the kids. Now they've lost both parents.

I am not debating her guilt, it is obvious. People feel trapped, sad that some do not know how to get out or feel they can talk with others.

I pray for her and her family, I pray for the 3 girls who are now without parents and will have to learn how to deal with this. I pray God guides them to a good family full of love and understanding and who will teach them, with God's guidance, how to deal with pressure and the way to deal with it.

I do not understand the legalities but I do believe she deserves to serve time in jail with psychiatric help and the help of a good Minister who can help to heal her soul, again with God's guidance.

I am not saying she had a right or was justified, she was not. All I am saying is that with God this HORRENDOUS ordeal can be used for good. There is no good in the loss of life and no good for 3 young girls to loose both parents, but I pray God will do something to encourage others to help one another. The one good thing, not that is should have to happen in a horrendous way, is that it brought the national spotlight on depression and verbal abuse, whether it is the man or woman giving the abuse. Not everyone will be able to forgive her, but understanding and patience are so needed for her and her family.

I would like to think I would be like Jesus, "Forgive them for they know not what they do" but I do not know if I am that good of a Christian, I might try to muster up enough strength to shoot them back in defense. The line "Kill them all and let God sort em out" God will sort them out but we must love, teach, council, and if not understand then to try and look at them with Gods eyes. I know I am still learning how to look at everyone as God does, but I am only human and sinful. I pray for guidance constantly.

I have been hurt by an ex, I have a tendency to go into blind anger, but I am a yeller, not a doer. I do not know what causes people to go to such extremes, it is not the first and unfortunately it will not be the last.

Again, my prayers to all involved.

    The Children

The 3 children are with his parents. His father is a COC preacher...retired. They did not allow the girls any contact with their mother until recently. The 2 older girls sent their mother some drawings to the Selmer jail. That is the only contact she has had thus far with her children since she was caught. So, I'm sure they will be raised by the paternal grandparents.
Perhaps some good can come out of this. Perhaps it will put a spot light on "something". When I first heard of this case, since it is so close to my home, everyone speculated abuse....of the girls. That's not the case at all.
It is not for us to forgive. The courts do have to do their job....and I'm sure they will. She needs to seek forgiveness from God, from his parents...and her girls. She has taken their father from them forever.
I can not judge her as I've not walked in her shoes. But, the courts have to do their job here. It is a horrible case. She obviously needs help and the children will need help also in the years to come.

No attitude on my part at all, Marcia. It's called justice.

    Genesis 9:5-6 (ESV)
And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

[6] "Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.

I do not want to extend capital punishment because of the children, but because of the crime - I doubt that there is a more appropriate punishment.

[IMG] I think life in prison w/o chance of parole would do...along with intense physiactric help for her. "Anger Management" would not even come close to what she truly needs. I feel sorry for her in so many respects....esp when it comes to the children. But, I think of his family and I ache for how they must miss their son and how horribly he died. The children are truly the ones at risk and have the greatest loss. This is a no win situation at the moment.
