In light of the heresy that Pat teaches in the WoF movement, and his recent hate-filled statements, I find it offensive that he is on a Southern Baptist Television station which is owned and funded by the NAMB and the Cooperative Program:

The 700 Club on Family Net

Family Net is owned and operated by the NAMB, which is funded by the Cooperative Program.

I want to encourage all Southern Baptists who are concerned about this heresy and hate being given a forum on a Southern Baptist Television Station owned by the NAMB which is funded ultimately by you and me through the CP to e-mail the leadership of the NAMB and tell them to get this program off of our station:

Contact the NAMB. Click on Contact us.

    I have already sent mine.

Desn't NAMB simply sell the airtime in question to the highest bidder? If they're a for-profit endeavor, their ability to limit the 700 Club may be somewhat limited.

But I honestly don't know either way.

The television station is owned by the NAMB and is supported by the Cooperative Program. Pat Robertson has no business being on there anymore than John Shelby Spong or Tony Campolo. If they cannot control who is on it, then they should shut it down.

I'm sure that Robertson buys air time; that's no excuse for the NAMB. I'm sure they wouldn't air Benny Hinn or Pope Benedict just because they can afford to buy the time.

I find myself in complete agreement with Joseph. Hard to believe, but there it is.

What is the WoF movement? Is this some sort of health and wealth theology?

Thanks Joseph. I read the link. Robertson should be booted of the NAMB television network.

We should all remember that as Southern Baptists a portion of our tithes likely ends up in the NAMB coffers which should give us some sway with them in this matter.

Sue them. If the NAMB cannot control who is on their station then they should shut it down.

    From the FCC website:

Does not the NAMB operate under the providence (for lack of a better word, regulations, or whatever) of the FCC?

The NAMB is not the FCC. That law is irrelevant. As I have said before, if the NAMB cannot control one of its own agencies and what is aired on it anymore than my local affiliate of NBC can (they cancelled the "Book of Daniel), then they should shut the station down.

No. FamilyNet is primarily a cable channel and outside the purview of the FCC.

The 700 Club does run on some over-the-air stations, which are under the jurisdiction of the FCC. However, this is not a question for the FCC; it is about whether it's proper for the NAMB to keep airing Robertson's show.

On what grounds? Shows are dropped all the time for many different reasons; Robertson has no right to have his show aired by another party.

The answer to that question is absolutely NOT!!! And, all Southern Baptists who agree with me on this should make their opinion known to the leadership of the NAMB. BTW,

    rsr and LE,

    Have you e-mailed them yet?

Some wonder why there is a small but growing movement of charismatic SB churches etc... Whatever happened to baptist distinctives?
