Paul Washer is one of my favorite all time preachers. I dowload his stuff from "Sermonaudio" all the time.

When Paul Washer's ministry was headquartered in Metropolis, Illinois, he preached regularly in our area and more than once in my church. He is one of the most uncompromising preachers I have ever heard. Some of his sermons I didn't enjoy, because they pricked my own heart. (You know, the sermons that you are convinced the pastor prepared just to preach directly to you).

He has moved his ministry to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and it is our area's loss.

OK...next question, would you have this guy in your church and if so; how do you think they would react?!?!?!
Honestly, even though i've only been at this pastorate for a year, i think his honesty could actually get me run out!
I'm like you all, great preaching, but i'm not sure i could handle too much at a time because i felt slapped around for a while.

From what I saw in the sermon, I would have him in church...
He is preaching what I have been preaching for about 6 months now at our church...
People were asking why we have so many that say they are members, but never go to church.. .so I honestly answered them one Sunday.

If they don't act show they love the Lord, they don't love the Lord... and cannot be saved.

To my surprise, everyone in our church agreed... (of course It was on a Sunday night lol)

I'm not the pastor of my church, but I'd have him back.

Be warned, however, that some of his sermons will make some of your members uncomfortable. Some of them I frankly didn't enjoy--but I did appreciate them because they were what I needed, and what my church needed to hear.

I know the man well, and I would have him in my church anytime. He has preached where I am now the interim (before I came here), and at several other places in my area. Be warned however, he will "make the sinner sad, the saint glad, and the hypocrite mad."

He's not the man to call in when you want to make your congregation feel good about themselves!

He and I are members of the same church, so I get to hear him now and then. At the close of his messages there is usually stunned, convicted silence......for a long time. I never knew A. W. Tozer but I have the feeling that the two men have much in common with regard to the way God has chosen to us them.

...and by "uncomfortable", we mean "try to kill you".

People either love him or they hate him and the ones who hate him go berserk anytime you even mention his name.
