Let's see if they can keep their property. It is my understanding that most of the time PCUSA ends up with the property when a church leaves the denomination. I've watched the court battles going on in The Episcopal Church. The majority of those cases are won by TEC. Many similarities in polity with the two denominations.

The church I used to attend left PCUSA some years back when it became obvious that denomination had lost it's theological moornings.
Personally, I would rather worship in a corn field than to be linked to a denomination that ignores biblical authority the way PCUSA does. I suspect the reason this particular church is looking to affiliate with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church is it's acceptance of women's ordination. It seems the majority of churches leaving PCUSA go that route rather than the OPC or Cumberland, etc for that reason.

How can they be taking a "conservative" stand and still ordain women?

Seems to me they just went less liberal.

Sheer ignorance. Fundamentalist Holiness churches have been ordaining women for a hundred years. Of course they don't believe that a woman should walk in a man's shadow but beside him.

Standing firm on the biblical roles of men and women in the home and in the Church is not ignorant. However, I appreciate your view.

And I appreciate your tone in this post. Also, please know that by my using the term "ignorance" , I was not suggesting stupidity -- that is, my comment was not a personal attack against you; I was equating ignorance with a lack of knowledge.

I hope the article I linked to above will shed further light on my views.
