Speaker Pelosi wants the goverment to monitor your church. Yet another way for Dems to silence others who disagree with them. I am seeing a patteren here, anybody else.

mmm ... and where are all the 'patriots' that argued that they were patriotic for wanting to protect foreign terrorists under the Constitution . . . but, they don't want to protect law abiding American Christians.

    End times? Maybe.

That is because liberals are closer, politicaly, to our enemies then they are to religious people of this country.

They consider the religious right a more dangerous enemy to there political power then the people who want us dead.

I am not certain that I would state (unequivocally) that they are closer to our enemies.

But, I do know that they do not agree with me.

Well I thought your comparison was right on when you compaired their stance on listining to terrorists phone calls or the patriot act to their stance on monitoring churchs.

I should not say all liberals, but their leaders.

If the Bible can't get the churches to do what they ought to do, maybe the government can.

Pelosi would love to monitor your church and see if you are in compliance.

Stick a pig and listen to it squeal. I say professional lobbyists of any stripe should be forbidden.

I am about a mile from Canada ... of course you have to cross the river ... But I will welcome the FBI, CIA, IRS or anyone else. They all need to hear the gospel.

The goverment is not interested in getting churchs to do the same thing as the Bible. The goverment and the Bible have different goals.

They will not be sitting in your pews listing to the gospel. They will be monitoring to make sure you are not preaching the conservative values that are taught in the Bible. Because if you teach Biblical values then you are a political group not a church.

That sword has two edges. The same law that would penalize a church for becoming a rightwing political tool, would apply to churches that became tools for liberal political movements.

    And well it should.

Interesting . . . liberals (Clinton) can preach politics at a church (riverside?), but it is ok to penalize conservatives (as long as you penalize the liberals a little)?

Great perspective. Tells me a lot about what is behind the agendas.

I figure all of them should be penalized equally. Apart from my irritation at those who would use God to promote a political agenda, it's abusing one's tax-exempt status.

Those crossing the line should be penalized regardless of political persuasion.

Exactly my point. But since churches have left preaching the Bible and starting preaching politics, perhaps a law that requires them to do what the Bible says they ought be doing anyway is a good thing.

    Oh yes they will too.

That is simply false. If you teach biblical values, you are a Bible teacher. When conservative values line up with Scripture, they will be preached because they are in Scripture.

Regardless of what they are therefore, what they will get is a full dose of Jesus.

Out come the anti free speech folks everytime the topic goes conservative . . .

OK . . . if a preacher cannot be conservative, then what is he preaching?

    ;)

There's a difference between preaching conservative or liberal, and becoming political. There's a lot of case law on the difference. Every preacher should be aware of the line across which he will violate the agreement by which his church is not taxed.

    Christianity. :tongue3:
