The movie 10 Commandments is nothing but sacriligious! No doubt it has led many a person to be doomed to hell. First of all, having Charlton Heston play Moses instead of a REAL Orthodox Jew is an affront to Orthodox Judaism. And on top of that Charlton Heston has proclaimed to be a born-again Christian! There were no born-again Christians before Christ - so right there, is a deceit!

And that's just the beginning. Yul Brynner as Pharoah? C'mon, get real. Yvonne DeCarlo, Edward G. Robinson, John Derek, Vincent Price, John Carradine - I ask you, have any of these people led Christian lives?

Then there is this extra-Biblical plot going on with a romantic triangle between Moses, his stepbrother Prince Rameses (Yul Brynner) and the princess, Nefertiri (Anne Baxter). There is nothing of the sort in the Bible, and it is just not true to the Scripture! The suggestion that Nefertiri is personally responsible for bringing down the wrath of God on Egypt really is going out of bounds, because the Bible clearly said it was Pharoah's heart that was hardened! But isn't that the way sly Satan works, perverting the word of God!

Furthermore, if people want to eat popcorn & drink Cokes & eat candy bars while watching Moses murder the Egyptian or when the water turns to blood, that borders on having a sick mind.

There has been too much artistic liberty taken in this movie and surely is a tool of Satan to deceive the masses. This movie is like a soap opera, a bad soap opera. Hollywood sacrilege at it's finest. Christians need to stay away from this movie & throw out their videos & DVDs if they have them, for it has led many people astray. They don't even give the plan of Salvation in the movie, but what could we expect from Hellywood? Besides, it's anti-Egyptian - it makes Egyptians out to be evil and will stir up feelings against Egyptians.

Christians need to just stick to the Bible. I don't need some Charlton Heston dressed in a fake beard and long bath robe to show me anything about God's Word. And I sure don't need Hollywood trick photography showing the Red Sea parted to make it seem real! The Bible says it & that's good enough for me!

---Charlton Heston can't play Moses no more???? Does that make my NRA membership "null and void???"

The attitude this movie is bringing out in Christians is thoroughly disgusting. Damned if you say a word for it, damned if you say a word against it, although so far the ones for it far outweigh the ones against it and are being much more vocal.
You'd think such a wonderful, life-altering vision of what Christ did for everyone would leave to at least one stinkin day of everyone being quiet and thinking about what they saw!

yes, n isn't it strange how many churches bought out the tickets on its first week of showing? :D

o, n the Chief Rabbi says--to loud amens fr the usual evangelical suspects--"It is as it was." [IMG]

n the final scene has Moses body in the nude, fought over by Michael n Satan--at least in the preview version of it ... [IMG]

At the end of the Ten Commandments movie, Pharaoh is sitting in his palace instead of drowned in the Red Sea (not the "Sea of Reeds").

    Funny anyway LadyEagle but remember:

"Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil."

Remember when you wouldn't accept the excuse from your children -

    "But Mom, everyone's doing it..."

As a born again Christian, I have the witness of the HOly Spirit in my life. Therefore, the Holy Spirit guides me out of evil situations. The Passion Film is not an evil film. It is a Bibically accurate (as much as humanly possible to report such an account) of an evil but blessed event - the Sacrificial Death, Burial, and Resurrection of my Lord! May His Name be praised. May many who see this film come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and may they accept Jesus the Christ as their Redeemer and Savior. I pray God will Bless Mel Gibson for taking this step of courage in producing and making this film. I pray the Holy Spirit will open blind eyes. I pray this film will be used as evangelical outreach to a lost and dying world. I pray that some of those on here who have been so critical without seeing the film will take an inventory of their own heart attitudes. I do not limit God in what He can or cannot do or what tools or methods or people who chooses to show the Truth of His Love to Sinful Man. Some of these comments about the film by some who have never seen it make me ashamed to be called a Baptist and I am glad I attend a SB Church which has not slammed the door shut on the Holy Spirit. In Nashville, there have been pastors and soul winning groups outside of the theaters leading people to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

While not Biblically correct, I love Pharaoh's (Yul Brunner) last line in the movie.

And if you want to know what that line is I dare you to see it for yourself :D

I have never been drunk, but see the Biblical principles about alcohol and thus feel perfectly justified in preaching against drunkeness.

I have never been to a strip club, but see the Biblical principles about sexuality and thus feel perfectly justified in preaching against such lewd behavior.

An aspect of maturity is to be able to EVALUATE something without having to EXPERIENCE it. Kids don't have that maturity and think they have to try or experiment.

Somewhere along the line we grow up. We weigh the good and the bad (in a movie like 10 Commandments or the Passion) and make evaluation whether we want to "experience" it or not.

So it is written. So it will be done.

So is the implication that those who have seen the movie or want to see the movie are "spiritually immature?"

Certainly hope that is not what is meant here.
