I was told that Pepsi was issuing a new can with the flag pledge on it but without "under God" Has anyone else heard this, it's so hard to know what to believe on things like this.

Hi Mark, and welcome to Baptist Board!

It's easy to check the veracity of a lot of these rumors on the net. There are several websites devoted to searching out all of that sort of thing. One of the biggest is the snopes website here: http://www.snopes.com/
If you are not sure what category you want, write key words to your question (for yours above I wrote in 'Pepsi' and 'pledge') in the search box at the top. When I did this regarding your rumor, there were several links given. I opened the top one and found a lot of information about how the rumor got started and when and what happened to the whole thing. It's interesting! It is also, by the way, false. :D

Here are some other sites with urban legend material:

I'm glad to hear this is a false rumor. Unfortuantely it felt true, didn't it? We as believers seem to be under attack from every quarter. I had no trouble believing the rumor, thanks for the info.

This is a e-rumor that came out right after 9-11-01 when Dr Pepper (not Coke) put a three-word slogan on their cans (one nation indivisible). The e-rumor died down after most people found out it was a hoax. But recently, it's started up again. I received it in my mailbox and simply deleted it.
