Today I'm still a liberal, but a Democrat. Although, it is borderline between that and socialism.

I keep landing somewhere on Hillary's face. It's worth taking the test just to see that big dot on there.

See why women shouldn't vote? We change too much based on our emotions and how we feel today.

No surprise to me. I've taken several of these and I'm always a centrist. That may surprise some folks. ;)

Has any one here NOT been described as: "You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness"?

I landed between Hillary and Gandhi on someone's face, but I couldn't see whose. Social liberal: 81% permissive and economic liberal: 31% permissive = Strong Democrat.

In the poll's context, what does "permissive" mean?

Probably that you allow others their God given rights, liberties, freedoms, and responsibilities.

Just wondering... why do so many of you folks as Baptists and Christians have this thing about controlling the freedoms and wealth of other people?

When did God appoint you all as judge in His stead?

So you don't believe anyone has a right/responsibility to self-determination- social or economic?

Hey now, remember, this test is very limited. I was placed just shy of Republican on the chart to the right of the quiz, but but was best described as a centrist. I've described myself as a moderate conservative leaning right of center, so I suppose the test is somewhat accurate for me.

To answer your question, yes I do, but not to the level of being unbridled or without limit.

Yes. Pretty much. Basically, I think that most freedoms and responsibilities should be protected and preserved to the individual. I am personally conservative but do not see it as my right to use the force of government to make others agree with me. I also think that people should share their wealth with the poor and needy but again claim no right to use the force of government to make them do so.

Because I believe in both sides... I think that a person should not only have the freedom to make decisions according to their own conscience as long as they do not harm others... I think they should face the full weight of the consequences... including economic ones.

And yes that does mean to individuals who might exercise those rights in ways I don't like. For instance- homosexuality. I would still speak out against its morality but I would not necessarily oppose their entering into legal covenants with one another IF others had the right to reject them and their relationship without government interference.

For instance, if two men declared that they were married so be it... so long as the local restaurant could refuse them entry or employment... according to their own conscience. They have every bit as much right to the property rights as homosexuals do over who they enter legal contracts with.

I don't think control works. I think the best way to get a just, moral, and peaceful society is to protect individual rights and liberties then insist that people take responsibility for themselves when they act on their rights and liberties. Social and economic pressure against deviant behavior is more effective with less unwanted side-effects than government force/mandates.
