Just got back from the eye doctor and I no longer need to wear glasses for distance vision! Praise the Lord!

Also, I am not showing any side effects on my eye's corneas from taking a medication, amiodarone, which I needed to treat atrial fibrillation back in 2015.

Some background. I never needed glasses until I reached the age of 48 years old. When driving things in the distance were blurry. I discovered I needed glasses for distance vision. My corrections were not too severe. For those that know the numbers I was SPH -1.50 in one eye and SPH -1.25 in the other. Still, needing that amount of correction is noticeable.( 0 SPH is normal, or 20/20 vision.) I started to need correction for reading too. I ended up getting no-line progressive lenses. (Bifocals without the visible line.)

From the moment I needed to get glasses I would pray that my boys would not need to wear glasses, "and Lord, if you would be so kind to fix my eyes I would appreciate it."

In April of 2014 my eyes had improved to -.75 and -.75 in both eyes. In June 2015 they had improved to -.50 and -.50. This is when the doctor saw the "corneal whorls" side effect I contracted after taking amiodarone for treating A-Fib in March-May of that year. Corneal whorls are basically a wavy, striation pattern on the surface of your corneas. If severe, they can cause you to see haloing effects around light sources (among other things.) These whorls are permanent.

In September of 2016 my eyes held steady at -.50 in both eyes. I still had the corneal whorls, as expected. My doctor said I could get a waiver the next time I renewed my driver's license stating I didn't need corrective lenses. About a year ago I stopped wearing glasses for driving because I could tell I could see a tad bit clearer at distance without glasses.

Just this summer I started noticing that my eyes would get fatigued after wearing glasses for a fair amount of time. So I went in for an eye exam. I was able to read the entire eye chart without wearing glasses. My eyes are now SPH 0 and SPH +.25. Most surprisingly the doctor could find no evidence of the "corneal whorls" which is a side effect of taking amiodarone in 98% of people that have used it. He checked my eyes twice for this and found nothing. He was truly astonished!

Thank you Lord for repairing my eyesight. I now can get by with reading glasses only.
