Greg Volz was offered the role of lead vocalist for REO Speedwagon in the 70s, but decided instead to join Petra. You can find out more about his ministry online here: http://www.gregxvolz.com/

woah! i just looked at Greg X Volz's website, i would have never recognized him on the street!

I am in agreement though, Volz is a lot better vocalist than John Schlitt is. But John Schlitt's voice was a lot better fit for the hard rock sound that Petra has developed.

And Bob Hartman is STILL one of the best guitarists around.

I was both sad and resigned when I got the e-mailing...

    John is really good people...

But, he isn't Greg and he isn't Bob...

When 'Micky' was dismissed some of the flavor left, too...

So many had left before that Petra was really John's band...

I have been missing Bob's incredible lyrics...

But, as much as I like Christian Power Rock... It was time for Petra to fold...

Hopefully, for us 'rockers' someone will come along to fill that void of Rock Music with Accountable Preaching Lyrics?

Rez Band and Petra... Christian Conscience and Christian Character...

    Mike Sr.

BTW... I heard them twice in concert

Once at Northwods Assembly in Charleston with my wife before we were married...

One a year or so ago at Aquire The Fire, also in Charleston. This time with my two teenagers and the church youth group.
