The Daytona 500 is next week, need new shocks on the truck because of all the potholes left after the winter storms, there are actually screens in these windows, and pitchers and catchers report for spring training. So who are your picks for the National and American league champs to meet in the World Series?

Anybody heard anything about Andy Pettite? Seems being here in Texas, there'd be something about his progress.

Wally I believe I read somewhere that he was rehabing well and expected to be back healthy this year. But not sure on that...

    wally,
Havent heard a thing. Did a search on the stro's website and came up empty for 2005 news releases. I'm kinda curious myself. Maybe ESPN or Sporting News will have something.

Boston Red Sox over the Atlanta Braves in 6.

Boston is in because they added Matt Clement. I think he makes the difference in the season. The Yankees lose because they have A-Rod, the Anti-Babe.

Atlanta is in because they added Tim Hudson to an already strong staff. What a terrific pickup by Schuerholz.

I wouldnt count on Clement being the difference for the Red Sox. I watched him for the last few seasons with the Cubs. He will have a great outing where he is unhitable and then have 4 outings in a row where he cannot throw a strike. He has a lot of potential, but has never lived up to it and there is no reason to beleive he is going to start now.

That is a pretty good dream world! But I like your optimism.

Cubs over Red Sox in 6 - Dream series.

SBC1303, have to disagree about Clement. He was a very consistent pitcher over the last 3 years. Just never got any run support. Ofcurse, he had a few bad outings - everybody does, but overall very solid.
