International Mission Board President David Platt speaks to pastors, church leaders and members during a live stream to discuss present challenges and future vision for IMB

"[IMB] leadership seeks to shift the 170-year-old mission board away from vocational missionaries paid by IMB to equipping SBC churches to send self-sustaining missionaries.

"You don’t see the IMB anywhere (in the Bible). But you do see local churches," President David Platt said during an hourlong online presentation."

Don't have a choice, they are out of money and assets to sell. If there isn't an IMB, why have a convention at all?

We've been doing this for decades. I recall asking a long time ago why, when most of the people in these 10/40 window countries can live off $2 per day, does it cost us on average $80,000 per year to send an IMB missionary?
