    Joseph,

He has been a president of the SBC, is not an Arkansas preacher, is not on the Baptist Board, and is not Jimmy Draper.

    Do you give up?

Here is the full prayer. It was delivered at the Christian/Jewish Symposium held at Second Baptist Church of Memphis on February 5, 1997. The purpose of the Symposium was to discuss the then recent resolution of the Southern Baptist Convention to increase evangelism efforts towards the Jews.

"Lord, we worship you and praise you and magnify your great name. Thank you Lord for blessing my own heart and giving me a greater understanding of my colleagues and our friends and our brothers and sisters. Lord, thank you for the food that you've so graciously given. Thank you, Lord, for every blessing, seen and unseen. Lord, we love you. Those of us who are Christians pray in Jesus' name but all of us honor you. In your holy name we pray. Amen."

Whereas this prayer was delivered at a meeting that involved Rabbis, a Roman Catholic priest, and Baptist ministers, I have a two serious questions:

    1. Does Adrian Rogers consider Roman Catholic priests and Jewish Rabbies his ministerial "colleagues"?

    2. Does Adrian Rogers really believe it is possible for Christ rejectors to honor "the Lord."

In all fairness to Adrian, (I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one), he probably considers them to be scholarly coleages.

    2. Does Adrian Rogers really believe it is possible for Christ rejectors to honor "the Lord."

Apparently he does. Not surprised at all. Most of what he and others like him do are politically, not spiritually, motivated. I have long thought that people like him were pretty worldly. Just my opinion.
