Poll: Americans ‘Overwhelmingly’ Believe Obama ‘Improperly Surveilled’ Trump Campaign

An IBD/TIPP poll shows that “Americans overwhelmingly believe the Obama administration ‘improperly surveilled’ Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”
Despite the disgraced American media’s best and most cynical efforts to bury the truth, and to even stop the truth from ever seeing the light of day, this poll (and another addressed below) demonstrate that the American people are almost entirely tuning the partisan, mostly-hysterical news media out and looking to alternative media for the truth

A clear majority of 55 percent believe it is “likely” that the Obama administration “improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.” That includes 31 percent of Democrats, 87 percent of Republicans, and 55 percent of Independents.

A clear majority of 54 percent want a special counsel to investigate “whether the FBI and the Department of Justice improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election.” Only 44 percent said no. The partisan breakdown shows that 74 percent of Republicans and 50 percent of Independents want a special counsel — as do a full 44 percent of Democrats.

No doubt. Obama, half his FBI, and most of his justice dept should be in prison.

Typical Breitbart hype--use of the word "overwhelmingly". 55% is not overwhelming. But it certainly is a "clear majority". This is good news for Trump.

In case you missed it, "overwhelmingly" was a quote from their source. But...

What's really amazing is the % of democrats that believe the same thing.

BTW Just curious...who besides Breitbart has reported this?

"Spying On Trump: Americans overwhelmingly believe the Obama administration" "improperly surveilled" Donald Trump's presidential campaign, and a majority say they would like to see a special prosecutor appointed to look into possible misconduct by the FBI and Department of Justice in spying on Trump, the latest IBD/TIPP poll shows.

One fact emerges from the poll of 900 people conducted from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2: The public doesn't necessarily buy into the Democratic narrative that the Trump campaign "colluded" with Russia to tamper with the 2016 presidential election.

The poll also suggests that many Americans think the roots of the allegations made against Trump extend beyond the two major party campaigns in the last presidential election and deep into the Obama era's intelligence and law enforcement bureaucracies, and may involve active political bias on the part of supposedly nonpartisan employees of both the Justice Department and FBI."

Breibart did not use the word "overwhelmingly" investors.com did and Breibart appropriately put that word in quotes. Further the word "overwhelmingly" is a subjective standard and can certainly be used in this case. Now that we have settled the childishness we can move on with the actual topic of this thread.

Most Think Obama White House Spied On Trump Campaign, Want Special Counsel: IBD/TIPP Poll

    https://www.investors.com/politics/...p-campaign-want-special-counsel-ibdtipp-poll/

In the IBD/TIPP survey of public opinion, we asked respondents "How closely are you following news stories about the role played by the FBI and the Department of Justice during the 2016 presidential election?" Of those who responded, 72% said they were following the story either "very closely" (39%) or "somewhat closely" (33%). Our responses were taken only from those who were following the story closely.

Some 55% of those said it was "likely" that the Obama administration "improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 election." There was an obvious partisan split among the responses, with 87% of Republicans and 55% of independents saying the improper spying took place, but only 31% of Democrats.

    *****************************************************************************************************
So people who weren't following the story closely were excluded from the poll. I think it's logical to assume that most of those who weren't following it didn't believe it. Take out the people who think the question is ridiculous and you still get only 55% in agreement with the question. That's nowhere near Breitbart's "overwhelming" statement.

He's just overworking his bias against Breitbart. Some don't like their adjectives, but no one here has ever pointed out a false story they have reported. And we find out things from them that the leftist media doesn't want us to know and doesn't report.

The leftist media certainly isn't reporting this.

    I'm a Breitbart fan! :Biggrin

Still bad news for the never trumpers and the Dems, as the Independents and some core democrats will now be flipping over to the Donald and the Republicans in Mid terms!

You liked better the major polls that had Hillary winning in a landslide?

That is quite a leap. So people that don't follow all the stories about Trump lying about whatever is being claimed--they don't believe Trump is lying? People that don't follow the so-called "blue wave" stories about the mid-term elections--they don't believe the Dems will win big?

I would tend to think you want to poll people that are informed about an issue rather than just random people. This is why polls of registered voters are more accurate than polls of random people.

I'm sorry, but the King Kong sized leap you've just made is ridiculous.

No it isn't. I'm saying that the poll is flawed because it excludes people who are probably against the question.

People who are excluded from the poll are people with little or no knowledge of the topic of the question. Why would you want to ask people a question they had scant knowledge about?

Might as well poll 8 years olds.

Yeah, another problem with polls, the ones that ask about RvW often don't even know what the case was about, opinions from the ignorant aren't welcomed.

This particular polls, who knows? That outfit was one of the best in 2016 but I can't find the internals on this particular poll, also wish they had swapped "believe" with "think".

No. The statement was: Our responses were taken only from those who were following the story closely. It does not say these people had little or no knowledge of the topic. I dismiss this story out of hand because i consider it to be just another Trump attempt to take the emphasis off the probe into Russia's collusion to support his candidacy in the 2016 election.Early on I decided it had no merit and did not watch it closely. I bet a lot of democrats felt the same way and a lot of Republicans supported the investigation just because it was anti-Obama and pro-Trump without bothering to understand the details.

So, I'll ask the Baptist Board members: What are the pro's and con's related to this question (in detail).
