I have not seen an angel that I am aware of...but who knows when an angel takes on human form?

I have definitely felt the presence of unseen angels!

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

I suppose that show, and current movie, Charlie's Angels is accurately named, if they so often come in disguises.

Sue, I don't doubt your sincerety. I am curious as to why you think this "feeling" was definitely an actual presence and then, why you think this presence was an angel? It seems to me to be way too easy to be fooled by eerie feelings.

I believe in their existance, but I don't believe God would allow us to see one, or even "sense" one.

I will be seeing several of them this coming Monday. I'm going to a baseball game. And I will be dressed like one, as well :D

PS - did you know that 2/3 of the Anaheim Angels are practicing Christians? Their behavior off the field is a reflection of that.

I see an angel everyday, my wife! Okay, enough of the mushy stuff. I envy your attending the Angels baseball game, and thanks for the info about many of them being Christians.

If Paul (in Hebrews) says that some have entertained angels and they were unaware of it, does that not mean that they can take on a human form? As far as being aware of them, I'm not sure.

Good Poll, SheEagle. I hope more people enter into the discussion.

I hesitate to say that I have seen an angel or felt the presence of angels because so many people do not believe that it is possible.

    I will be back later.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

Back about 24 years ago, one of my children was in his high chair, put his foot against the table and pushed. The chair fell backwards onto a cement slab floor with only tile to soften the fall. Now remember that the old style high chairs were folding metal with padded bottoms and did not extend up to support the head. The chair fell but as it did I saw a white flash on both sides. Jon crashed to the floor but there was no sound when his head hit, no bump, no lump, no crying...... you tell me.

I was in a book store looking
at some books on the bottom
shelve. My son was then about five
years old (soon 21, so this happened
about 16-years ago) so we were
    looking at children's books.
I had a sense of danger present so marked
that, without thinking, I rose, turned 180º,
and was in a full defensive martial arts
stance. Never happened to me before; never happened
since. Did an angel tap me on the shoulder?

When i was in my stance, i saw nothing but
normal bookstore stuff: shelves, books, etc.
The book shelve then in front of me
    said: NEW AGE.

My daughter was in the hospital for surgery. A man who identified himself as Pastor ______I didn't understand his name, but I did not know the name of the pastor where my daughter and her husband were church members at that time. My daughter was the only one who was in surgery that morning. He first visited my daughter told her he had come to pray for her and called her Kelly. She said you have the wrong person my name is Kathy. He replied no I have the right person. He prayed with her.

Then this man sat with us as we waited. He didn't say anything and my son in law didn't say anything to him, which I thought was a little odd, but this man sat quietly with us for two hours. When the doctor came to tell us Kathy was all right, I turned to thank the Pastor. He was gone! I could see down the long hall and out to the parking lot, he was gone. No one was there. I said Max that was so nice of your pastor to come and sit with us. Max replied, "Betty, he isn't our pastor and I have never seen that man before in my life". This was my daughter"s 5th eye surgery and this one was successful. Angel, Kathy and I thought he was.

I was driving alone in a bad rain storm at night and could not see the road. There was construction and I couldn't pull off the road. I prayed for the Lord to guide me and suddenly a pickup pulled onto the road...it seemed to have been parked by the side of the road. The pickup drove slowly and I followed the lights until we were out of the storm. Then the pickup disappeared as strangely as it had appeared. If not an angel, it was an answer to prayer.

Don't fear too much. I've discovered that "New Age" sections are often "This doesn't fit in anyother section, so we'll stick it here" sections. Same with "New Age" music. I'd hardly call Yanni "New Age". I would, however, call his recordings a good cure for insomnia.

When my dad passed away at the age of 80 (he had been ill for quite a while), I had the privilege of being with him, along with my husband, mom and about 15 of his nieces and nephews. All in the room, including my dad were Christians. I can tell you, most assuredly, that at the very moment of his last breath that I felt angels in the room with us taking him to heaven. Since that time I have not had the opportunity to share that miraculous event. My mother passed away alone, in a nursing home about two years later. How I wish I could have been with her then to see her on to heaven....! Oh yes I have sensed angels!

Three days after my wife's ex-husband left her, she went to work so emotionally distraught she was literally praying for God to just help her make it through the day, as she prepared to open her cash register at the military commissary (grocery store). She paused and literally thought she would have to run for the rest room due to nausia when suddenly she heard Amazing Grace in the most beautiful whistle tone she had ever heard coming from behind her. It had an instant soothing effect on her!

She turned around to find the source of this beautiful whistling and spotted an elderly man about ten yards away, staring straight at her and whistling! She smiled at him and turned around to begin her work while he continued to whistle Amazing Grace. She got stronger and better by the minute and after a while, when her confidence in dealing with her emotions became strong, the elderly man came over to her and said, "Don't you worry my dear. Everything's going to be all right." He turned around and walked out.

Fast forward about a year later - she and I had met, dated for seven months and married. She changed jobs and was working in the county tax office. The office was swarmed that day as it was the end of the month with a tax deadline due. People were lined up out the front door and around the corner. My wife said suddenly she got a strange feeling and looked up toward the front door just as the same elderly man she had seen whistling a year earlier and hadn't seen since came in. He walked past everyone in line straight up to my wife (who was waiting on a customer), reached out and, softly taking her hand said, "I told you everything's going to be all right." He turned and left as tears of joy rolled down my wife's cheeks.

Angel? I choose to think yes! [IMG]

When I had my art shop, a small, well dressed elderly lady came in and looked around at my paintings. She said you teach painting on television, don't you? I told her "no, I just teach here in my shop". She said, "Well, you ought to" I thanked her and watched as she walked around the shop. Suddenly, she said, "here it is. I knew there would be one here somewhere" Then she left. I had never seen her before, nor since.

What did she find that she knew would be there?

A Bible. I had an area by a fireplace with two overstuffed chairs and on the table was a Bible.

Angel, probably not, but it made me feel good that she knew by the atmosphere in my shop that there would be a Bible there.

Thank you for the stories -- yours was really special, John. I have some of my own, but I talk too much on BB as it is. So just a thank you from me for the encouragement and the smiles.

    In Christ,
    Helen

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. (Heb 13:2)

This tells me that we definately have angels in human form (strangers) in our midst! ;)
