    Aren't they all PK's? (preacher's kids) Missionaries, Evangelists, and Deacons all preach

    I'm a DK (Deacon's Kid). My father and grandfather were both deacons in the same church growing up. In fact, my grandfather was one of seven familiies that started the church. While I was growing up, sometimes the church took what would be considered legalistic positions on some issues. My parents and grandparents did not always go along with those views, and my home life with them was very balanced. In fact, the longer I live, I see and am grateful for the teaching that went on at home. I wasn't a rebellious child, but I went through a period where I became a "hyper-fundamentalist", and if I had listened to my parents, I probably would have saved myself some embarrassment.

    I'm happy to have been a DK and wouldn't trade it for anything!

    I'm a PK, married to a DK, our kids have been spared from either so far.
