Well, it pays to read first. I saw, after I voted, to
vote for five; I only voted for one and would love to
change that vote by adding four more.

    weep.

    dejected.

And I wish Dr. Bob could be up there again.

I'm just sad that I'm not listed as one of the choices! I suppose I must have made too many enemies with my politically liberal self.

Guess ScottEmerson is too liberal and massdak is too fundamental!! I, CJ, however, am in between and I'm not on there either! But I'm glad I'm not...this way I can vote for 5 people instead of just 4. (If I were on there, I would be compelled to cast one of my votes for ME!!) :D :D

The forum software only allows 99 choices in a poll, so due to limitations I had to remove the past 2 MOTY winners (Dr. Griffin and Helen) and several ex-members.

I voted! My only criteria was that the person who got my vote always makes uplifting comments and is never personally critical of other people even when she (oops!) disagrees with their ideas!

    Get the picture:

Blackbird is in the Birdcave---at the drawin' table----his "thinkin' cap" is on---to the back and side---

    He's sceamin'---riggin' up!!

He's got a plan to vote for himself---he places a check mark by his name and hits the "continue" button---the votes are now being tallied at Blackbird's discretion---with Blackbird's ingenuity and wit---coupled with charm and charisma(plus the shortcircuited votin' square)--Blackbird is overconfident that he will enter the race---a one sided landslide---it'll be the first in BB history!!

Your Southern Baptist preachin', vote grabbin' buddy,
    Blackbird

I voted for only one, and she well deservs the honor, but a name was left off who should have been added, though I doubt the hierarchy would agree. I cast a "write-in" vote for - Jude, the best poll writer in the crowd.

Guess ScottEmerson is too liberal and massdak is too fundamental!!

That cannot be the case because I'm a Roman Catholic - - and I'm on the list. ;)

Scott Emerson, Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. My name is not on the list, either. I guess I am too conservative. Oh well they probably would not have had the Apostle Paul's name on it either. :D

Ya'll remember the Dewey-Truman Presidential campaign??

Truman holding up that headline that read

    "Dewey Wins!!"

Well, Blackbird "foresees" another upset! Blackbird sees himself holdin' the BB headlines up with somebody else's name plastered all over the front page----but yeeeeeeeeeet----its Blackbird in a lopsided landslide!!

Yes Sir Ree, Bob! He sees it happin'!

    Jest 'Fore voting time....
    With apologies to Eugene Field

Father calls me William, sister calls me Will,
Mother calls me Willie but the fellers call me Bill!
    Mighty glad I ain't a girl---ruther be a boy,
Without them sashes curls an' things that's worn by Fauntleroy.
Love to chawnk green apples an' go swimmin' in the lake--
Hate to take the castor-ile they give for belly-ache!
'Most all the time, the whole year round, there ain't no
    flies on me,
But jest 'fore voting time I'm as good as I kin be!

Got a yeller dog named Sport, sick him on the cat.
First thing she knows she doesn't know where she is at!
Got a clipper sled, an' when us kids goes out to slide,
'Long comes the grocery cart, an' we all hook a ride!
But sometimes when the grocery man is worrited an' cross,
He reaches at us with his whip, an' larrups up his hoss,
An' then I laff an' holler, "Oh, ye never teched me!"
But jest 'fore voting time I'm as good as I kin be!

Gran'ma says she hopes that when I git to be a man,
I'll be a missionary like her oldest brother, Dan,
He was et up by the cannibals that live on Ceylon's Isle,
Where every prospeck pleases, an' only man is vile!
But gran'ma she has never been to see a Wild West show,
Nor read the life of Daniel Boone, or else I guess she'd know
That Buff'lo Bill an' cowboys is good enough for me!
Excep' jest 'fore voting time, when I'm as good as I kin be!

And then old Sport he hangs around, so solemn-like an' still,
His eyes they seem a-sayin': "What's the matter, little Bill?"
The old cat sneaks down off her perch an' wonders what's
    become
Of them two enemies of hers that used to make things hum!
But I am so perlite an' tend so earnestly to biz,
That mother says to father: "How improved our Willie is!"
But father, havin' been a boy hisself, suspicions me
When, jest 'fore voting time, I'm as good as I kin be!

For voting for the member of the year round here parts,
with its lots an' lots of candies, cakes an' toys,
Was made, they say, for proper kids an' not for naughty boys
So wash yer face an' bresh yer hair, an' mind yer p's and q's,
And don't bust out yer pantaloons, and don't wear out
    yer shoes;

Say "Yessum" to the ladies, and "Yessur" to the men,
    An' when they's company, don'a pass yer plate for pie again;
But, thinkin' of the VOTES you'd like to see up thar for me,
Jest 'fore voting time be as good as you kin be!

Its obvious to all that Blackbird is tryin' to run a "clean" campaign for member of the year---

He has chosen to recite a Republican promise from George Bush, Sr.------"NO 'L' Word!" That's right , Ladies and Gentlemen! You will recieve Blackbird's full cooperation to his political party with no references to the 'L' word!!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird
