Now that the U.S. is faced with a massive expenditure due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina, when do you think the U.S. needs to leave Iraq?

Polls don't run our military. We will never get out of Iraq totally, unless some future administration blows it.

    General Douglas MacArthur:

"There is no substitute for victory!"

We should have learned that lesson from Korea and Viet Nam.

If we leave before we should then it will be our enemy's victory.

Wars are not won by fixed schedules. Battles are won when the enemy is defeated. Victories are secured by what follows the battles. It's over when it's over whether it takes one year or a hundred years.

We won't leave Iraq untill they join forces with Iran, Syria, etc. to form the "Middle East Coalition" and kick us out.

If we leave before we should then it will be our enemy's victory. </font>[/QUOTE]You're right here. The anti-American, Hanoi Jane, War criminal Kerry crowd will win another victory against America if we leave too soon. But, you forgot to mention the victory that will also go to our other enemies, the terrorists.

President Bush said we would leave when the Iraqi's ask us to leave. That's when we will leave. They have already hinted at such, but they have to get everything they can squeeze out of us first. Then we will leave and it will be without victory. When we leave, we will leave a lot of ammunition, supplies, and military equipment behind.

The Iraqi fighting will continue amongst themselves in a civil war, using our ammunition and equipment we leave behind. All the infrastructure we are rebuilding and putting in place at US taxpayer expense, will also be destroyed in the Iraq civil war. The civil war will go on for years and eventually Iraqi Shia will join Iran. The Sunni's will be in alliance with Syria. Kurds will want their own nation (they already do).

By then, Bush will be out of office and probably another terrorist attack will happen on US soil. I don't think it will happen while Bush is in office, but I could be wrong about my theory which I won't go into here.

At any rate, bin Laden and his ilk will still be loose and the present members of this administration will become lobbyists and continue doing business with our enemies and Republicans will be on this Board carrying on about Hillary and how wicked she is.

Meanwhile, enjoy feeling patriotic about "fighting the war on terror" in Iraq.

We leave when the job is done. What's so hard about that to figure out? And why wasn't that an option on the poll?

Even if the "democracy" in Iraq votes to have our troops leave?

Interesting poll so far Ken, I think 6 months
to a year ago on this board you would get the
overwhelming soundbite of "stay the course".

Spiritually speaking even a sovereign God can
take the choice out of a leaders hands when it
comes to the blood and treasure of a war and
    natural disaster.

I think a majority of Americans and those in the
mainstream are in chorus with"What about us...What
    about the homeland".

Hope you get more to vote in the poll...maybe they
could move it to the forums after a while and get
the less neo-political people to vote and hear
    from the BB mainstream.
