I am getting a bunch of pop-up ads. Most of them show up in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Others are full-screen.

One of them appears to be generated when I click on a Baptist Board link.

Questions: Where do they come from? Can I disable them? If so, how?

They are really starting to bug me.

    Thanks, RevMitchell. It helped.

I use Firefox as my main browser and found a way to reset it to an earlier default setting, and that also seems to have fixed the problem.

Firefox has an Ad Block add on available that will stop all pop ups.

Yes, it is awesome. It is quite jarring to use someone else's computer and encounter all the ad content. It's incredible how much it intrudes on your internet experience (and slows down your browser.)

Some sites can now have pop ups within their page that you can't close. As you scroll the ad will follow you. I was at a computer manufacturer site the other day and had one that would not go away - wanting me to chat with them. They had asked me to do a survey through another pop up and I had said yes. Finally out of frustration because I could not read about their product due to the chat window - I took the survey and told them I had come there to buy a product but could not read the information due to their wanting to chat - told them they lost a sale because they did. ???? not sure what these website programmers are thinking sometimes.
