Barnabas, I still pray for Postka. With that unusual name, it pops into my mind every now and again. :flower:

Thank you all for continued prayer. I am afraid Potska hardened her heart and now she does not want to hear anything about salvation. Her sister, Suann, is with her from Florida, and she cares for her. One of her friends came to read the Bible for her and she said she does not want to hear it. Suann was desperate and asked us what to do. I sent her a detailed email, asking her to "spoon feed" to Potska the plan of salvation - for she is not ready and willing to take the whole meal. When our daughter, Elizabeth, called her up, to see her again, Potska told her that she has a doctor's appointment and it would not be appropriate. We continue praying and hoping - for the thief on the cross had only but a very short time to repent and ask Jesus to remember him.... And what a beautiful conclusion his life has taken from then on, when the Son of God told him that he shall be with Him in paradise. We hope and pray, for where we fail God can triumph!

Praying that the Spirit of God will move upon Postka's heart.

A loved one's terminal illness presents a difficult situation for those who are near and dear and concerned for their soul's destination. While the patient is concerned with fighting for life.... the life they believe they have here.... their Christian loved ones are desiring the peace and knowledge that they have believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and have the hope of meeting again in the resurrection. It would be nice if we could push or 'will them' into the kingdom..... or so it may seem to us. However, and especially if they have anger issues, controll issues, personal and previous resentments, rebellion, and denial of their own mortality...... a typical human condition of the natural heart ..... we may enlarge the target by pushing so hard we become the subject and the target against which they rebell. So I'm also praying for each member of the family that has this concern that God will give each the wisdom and sensitivity in their approach and witness of His love. We can witness. We can examine ourselves to see if we might have given them cause whether real or phantom, a concern for their perspective and an obstacle of their construction to resent our witness or message. And we can do what we can in bringing up those memories which are good and wholesome, where our loved one was included and had value, and, in doing so, let her know she is loved and will be missed..... or give her opportunity to input how she would like to be remembered. These have a way of healing the interpersonal relationships which may be strained. When she is able to accept the prospect of her own mortality and she is ready to grieve, the knowledge that others care and can share in her grief may prove meaningful. The holy spirit will open opportunity. Cover it all in prayer!

Thank you windcatcher for your homily. I have copied it and sent to Potska's sister, Suann, so that she could walk her down on memory lane and "spoon feed" the plan of salvation gently to her.... :type:

windcatcher that is a powerful post from you!

This is a very emotional time for Postka's family who love her and are concern
    about her salvation.

    I quote from windcatcher post:

The holy spirit will open opportunity. Cover it all in prayer! AMEN!
Let us keep this precious family in prayer. It would be amazing in just
talking with her about things she is interested in how that can lead to
spiritual conversation which we are all praying for Postka's salvation!

Still remembering Postka's special and urgent needs and God's power to save and to heal and relieve suffering. Also remember her family and their needs for comfort, peace and wisdom during these times. Praise the Lord for He is good and his mercy endures forever!
