Most of you are probably aware of the difficulties and delays that various international relief agencies have experienced in trying to get assistance to the areas devastated by the recent cyclone in Burma.

It certainly is heart breaking to learn of this kind of situation and how cold-hearted the rulers of that country must be to deny the offers of help for their people who have suffered much.

Yet, in the midst of this, it would seem that God just may be opening a door of opportunity for our church's mission operation in neighboring Thailand to be of some help to some of these Burmese people.

One of the many activities of our Thai mission work (which is operated entirely by Thai nationals) over the years has been to make some contact with some groups of Burmese believers. Given the nature of the current regime in Burma, all of these contacts have been done on a rather clandestine level and at great risk by our Thai brethren.

Any efforts by our Thai brethren to get any kind of help for their Burmese neighbors will have to be done on a low key level, but we also know that they serve a God who specializes to doing the impossible--especially when it comes to something intended to bring honor and glory to Him.

Please pray for them as they endeavor to help these people in Burma. Only our God knows what may ultimately be the results of these efforts to reach out to these people who are in such desparate need.
