Job market in SC is very very very tight and there is so much unemployment. I have the work ethics, and skills and have landed a number of interviews. Today had a interview for a position which paid $2 more than my last position, but the position looked to be far easier. For example all isles and bin locations were very clearly labeled. I have worked in warehouses where this was not the case. Also material handlers only had to pick orders, and someone else packed. The company I worked at for the last 2.5 years we had to do both. Overall my tour of the warehouse things looked far cleaner, and this company appeared to be far more organized. The shop was for a shipping clerk II which I have experience.

However with safety they did not have the steel toe requirement, and forklift operators were allowed to carry loads in front of them. I know at our company we had all the safety requirements because of previous injuries. Its like the bike accident yesterday. The county has no bike lane on either side of the road, and the crosswalk is a joke as there is no light for pedestrians, and people drive wild around there. The city will wait until me or someone else gets splashed on the concrete and a lawsuit happens before they change. In that case I am using common sense and would never ride a bike on the road on either side of the road. The law will wait until I get splashed to change, so common sense dictates just not to ride a bike in that area period.

I did my best to sell myself and gave my best effort. The interview was only 18 minutes long which was kind of short. The good news is that employers continue to call me, so I will get a job in time.

I have attempted to find jobs in thee fields here but have failed because I lack recent experience, there are no jobs, or some other reason. I may relocate.

Have you looked for state government jobs? jobs.sc.gov I don't particularly like their website; the state that I was looking at actually lists vacancies for state positions. Seems like you need to create an account to be able to see those vacancies for SC.
