We have a prayer night and we use a prayer list that we update every week by adding the new prayers request.
The problem is it is getting long.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
We try to keep it fresh by breaking up into groups or sometimes just having a few pray etc...

I considered doing that. I have now come to the conclusion that the best thing is not the have a prayer list every week. Allow people to give their requests from week to week. That way it doesn't become so long. And it keeps the pressing needs at the forefront.

Our prayer list has sections. We have an area for those in the military, those in nursing homes or shut ins, those with terminal / long term illness and a weekly updated list for those newer needs. With a church of over 1,100 members, our list runs about 2 full pages but the lists are handed out on Wednesday night before prayer meeting. A generalized prayer is prayed, a sermon is given and then groups break apart and pray as they feel led.
