Prayer request

Going this afternoon for an appointment with an ENT. I spent the last four an a half years battling lung cancer. As a result of continued problems coupled with radiation have all but lost my voice. I can talk at little more than a whisper and have great difficulty in conversation (especially on the phone). Mostly a problem for my dear wife who has to get within close range to understand what I am saying. Procedure today may help regain some if not all of what I have lost. Pray that it is successful and that I am again able to communicate in daily situations.

 

Just back from the doctor and had to endure the ole nose cam. They sprayed some deadening stuff up the passage and ran a scope down to the vocal cords and had me try to make various noises. One of my vocal cords is completely unresponsive and the other greatly diminished. The procedure they hoped to do is done if there are only problems with one vocal cord...... they said the injection could cause breathing problems if both are effected. So for now, I guess I guess I'll just shut up.

On the bright side there is no cancer activity in the area. It is the pressure on the nerves to the vocal cord from the previous tumor that is causing the problems. As the area heals after radiation I may at some point regain my voice..... just not today... with the hoped for procedure.
