Presbyterians Ordain Homosexual Minister!

    Yea good one - thats like asking a person on welfare if the rich are paying enough taxes


    Wait, I just realized something. What does independent SBC churches have to do with Homosexuality in the PCUSA?

    The church (which I would not stay a member of) would probably not be allowed to remain, since they no longer are in doctrinal agreement. But the SBC could not stop them from doing such because the SBC has no authority over what that church does.

    In my opinion the church knew that their doctrine had changed and become false so they initiated the split.

    There are liberal and conservative branches of Presbyterian churches just as there are of Baptist churches.

    I seriously doubt OPC (Orthodox Presbyterian) churches would do such (think Coral Ridge and Dr. D. James Kennedy), but PCA/PCUSA are considerably more "liberal" than OPC.

    AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

    One is okay biblically, the other is not.

    I agree. If this is so, this ordaining a homosexual will turn out to be a good thing- not intrinsically, but because of what will result from it.

    The PCA is a good movement and could use the help.

    So, it sounds just about the same as any other denomination. The central office can't force the local church to do something, but it can withdraw membership from them. That's exactly my point. How many churches follow what the central office says in order to maintain fellowship. Quite a few I suspect.

    Although in the Presbyterian church I was in, the denomination owned the building/property/contents. So we would be free to leave - with the clothes on our backs. That would absolutely be different in the Baptist church. Not sure if it's the same in other denominations.
