This is a reply to the topic about "hillary clinton ties to islam" but that seems to have gone nowhere.

Just sounds like more Bush bashing to me since anyone who looks anywhere but to the Bible for spiritual guidance is taking a risk. I don't look to President Bush for spiritual guidance nor to anyone posting on this board. </font>
Then please don't talk about "our christian president."

However, my statement should have read, "Billy Graham thinks heaven will have Muslims, Hindus...etc".

So I kinda retract the statement. I don't hate Dr. Graham at all. He's led more people to the Lord than most of his critics, but his apostasy is well documented.

Is it realy well documented? The only things I see are a handful of lines or quotes that are repeated on the internet over and over again, one blog simply taking the text from another bolg and repeating it.

I've heard Dr Graham speak many times, and seen him in person at a crusade which I was involved in. On the whole, Dr Graham's message is one that says that Christ is the only way, and that without Christ one bears the price of sin, which is death. This is a continuing theme in his messages over and over and over again. Hence, I'm inclined to believe that apostacy is not well documented, just cleverly quoted and oft repeated.

And I agree with you. I respect Dr Graham greatly. But I also recognize the fact that he's a fallable human, in speech, in thought, and in deed. I'm amused by hoy many here who praise Kent Hovind despite his continuous charlatainism will also condemn Dr Graham due to a handful of quotes.

There are interviews in Time magazine, and Christianity Today, that I cannot link to, so I don't know what else to do.

Like I said, I should have worded that differently. It was right for me to be challenged.

I also greatly respect Billy graham, have since I was a kid.

Agreed, Bro Curtis. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm willing to give Dr Graham a bit of leeway here, since the great bulk of his words and works contradict the aforementioned statements.

I don't appreciate his stance on the pope, I don't like that he called him the holy father, but we'll save that for another time.

I've never heard that statement in context, but I do believe that there are people who, for whatever God's purposes, will swerve into salvation, despite following a false religion.

Just as people who have never heard the Gospel can still be saved, I believe that God will judge Hindus and even Muslims on their faith in Christ, as best as they understand Him.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe that the only means of salvation is by faith in Christ and His atonement on our behalf, but I do believe that there may be more faith than we can see on the surface.

I'm not committed to this view and I'm certainly open to correction, so don't judge me too harshly for that.

There must be more to the story than that. I believe most of the mods and members on Christianforums.com would agree with that statment. </font>
I doubt it. They will let atheists and mockers say whatever they want about the Lord in the General Apologetics forums, but give me warnings for sticking up for the Gospel.

The situation with the moderators there is a disaster.

    It's not just me, either.

There are threads in the "site suggestions" forum that document dozens of problems people have had there.

    </font>
If we met, I would shake your hand, and call you a brother in Christ, same as I would do if I met Billy Graham. I'm really not trying to judge anyone, just saying that people jump all over Bush, yet give others a pass when they believe in the same ting.

I respect what Bro Curtis is saying here, and concur with that sentiment.

The Bush family has never had a theologian. They asked Bush's dad what he thought of the lesbian preacher at the National Episcopal Cathedral and all he could say was that he was not ready for that. The Bush family tends to syncretistic. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod would throw the Bushes out.

The Bush's are a family of professional politicians and in the US professional politicians have to portray themselves as godfearing church/synagogue goers even if they aren't.

Actually I would be surprised if I found out Bush junior was faking it. I suspect Bush senior (or for that matter Reagan) much more when it comes to that sort of behaviour.

Actually, it is probably the other way around. George Herbert Walker Bush is a devout Episcopalian and knows vast sections of The Holy Bible by heart. However, he is very quiet about his religion in public.
