What is the primary translation(s) that you use? Not the ones you reference from time to time, but your main one(s). [IMG]

For me, the NKJV and ESV.

For study and family devotions, the ESV.
    At church, the KJV.

The Defined Bible KJV for study
    Thompson Chain KJV* for preaching

    * This Bible was given to me at my ordination years ago. I keep it for the pulpit almost exclusively.

The NIV is my primary translation, although I use the NLT often for reading.

KJV- primary. NKJV, and NASB- secondary.

Assorted versions on Bible Study programs occasionally.

"Londona" 1926; and in English, NRSV by preference but NIV by preponderance (because that's the pew Bible at both my main churches).

For casual reading, I grab the NIV first. For detailed study, I grab the NASB, the KJV (as all the good tools use Strong's numbering) and a Greek NT (usually UBS3).

What is the reason for a lot of you to be using a different translation at home than the one you use at church? Just curious.
