    Hi peeps

I bought a new laptop recently and it came with windows xp home ed. I realised at first that it had this thing called *windows messenger* which was the same as msn. So I started using that instead of downloading msn again, but after a week I downloaded msn version 6 and I much prefer it. I'm having a problem though with windows messenger. Each time I sign into outlook express, windows messenger just starts running in the taskbar even though I have turned this option off in the outlook options. What I really want is to uninstall windows messenger but I don't know how as it seems to be built into XP. Any help would be appreciated.

Sherrie just go to start/run, and paste this into the box

    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then hit *ok* ...this will give you the prompt that you need.

    Hope this helps.
