A producer for an NPR-affiliated radio station has apologized for saying she would "laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out" if she were to see conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh suffering a heart attack

In the latest fallout over the exposed e-mails from a now defunct private online forum for liberal journalists, Sarah Spitz, who produces the show Left, Right & Center for KCRW public radio program, said in a statement posted on NPR that she "made poorly considered remarks about Rush Limbaugh to what I believed was a private email discussion group from my personal email account."

"As a publicist, I realize more than anyone that is no excuse for irresponsible behavior. I apologize to anyone I may have offended and I regret these comments greatly; they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life."

The Daily Caller, an online magazine launched by conservative commentator and Fox News contributor Tucker Carlson, has been releasing the e-mails that show some liberal journalists were actively seeking to influence news coverage rather than just report or comment on it. The stories recount how some journalists plotted to kill stories on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright scandal to protect then-Sen. Barack Obama 's presidential campaign. Other e-mail chains advocated for shutting down Fox News.

Every time the left calls the right mean spirited you can know they are simply projecting their own mentality.

She showed class by apologizing. Has Rush ever apologized for any of his hateful comments about others?

It is amazing how much class people suddenly acquire when their trash talk is made public.

It wasn't the trash talk that shows class ... it was the apology. Has Rush ever apologized for any of his trash talk that was shown to be false?

Too bad she didn't have the class to not say it to begin with.

I agree ... but she did apologize.

What about Rush? Has he ever apologized?

Crabtownboy, I think, in order to get anyone to answer your question, you're going to have to provide an example of something Rush should apologize for.

Why do you keep trying to take the thread off topic?

    The topic is Sarah Spitz.

If you want to talk about Rush Limbaugh you should start another thread.

Agreed...let's see an instance of something he said that he should apologize for. Remember, sound bites taken out of context don't count.

Cuz that what libbies are doing right now. It's Bush's fault, Limbaugh's fault etc. It is called deflection. The best thing to do is to ignore their off topic posts.

How is this recent Rush comment for starters.

There is no need to call anyone a cracker, especially a recently deceased person.

I disagree, Rev. If Crabtownboy can provide a similar example of a rabid conservative spewing something similar, then he has a valid point: We conservatives are vilifying liberals, when we do the same thing ourselves. In other words, are we talking about the mote in someone else's eye, without pulling the beam from our own?

Question is, how long do we give him to provide an example?

    --------------

Whoops, he responded while I was writing this...stand by while I take a look at what he posted....

As usual he took Rush's words out of context. Second this thread is not about Rush. It is just as easy to start another thread rather than derail this one.

    Okay, Crabtownboy, here's Rush's explanation:
    Source: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_071410/content/01125111.guest.html

Where I agree with you, Crab: It was poor taste to use Steinbrenner as the basis for Mr. Limbaugh's political statement. I do believe he should apologize; his timing was whacked.

Where YOU are wrong: The NPR individual made a personal attack against Limbaugh. You're comparing apples and oranges. Limbaugh's comments, though perhaps distasteful, were in character with his public personality. The NPR producer admits in her apology that this is not the way she tries to live her life.

    -----

There ya go, Rev. See how I tied those together? :)

Or how much class they feign when their attitudes are made public.

Yep. Going from "I would laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out" to "I apologize to anyone I may have offended" is a pretty long hike.
