Prophecy?

    I was watching on PBS the old (1936 ) "Things To Come" the storyline is: A global war begins in 1940. This war drags out over many decades until most of the people still alive (mostly those born after the war started) do not even know who started it or why. Nothing is being manufactured at all any more and society has broken down into primitive localized communities. In 1966...

    The movie is based on a 1933 novel of the same name.

    The book ' The Shape of Things to Come' is amazing. Anybody interested in history who does not read Wells is missing out.

    His 'War in the Air' is full of accurate predictions.

    He is amazing writer who has lost some of his impact because people focus on 'War of the Worlds.'

    On a side note think 'predictions' is a better word choice than 'prophecy.'

    Wells also wrote an amazing book on atomic energy and an atomic war. 'The World Set Free ' was published in...1914!
