    I'm tempted by Mammon, to take a bet. But I'll resist. You just show me where Paul said that? I would have bet you a thousand dollars - about as much as I could have mamaged to put down at this point in time. And not a word of mine a lie.

    Oh you're right. His instructions to the churches in Galatia and Corinth to lay aside something on the first day of the week meant that they really didn't meet on the first day of the week. Thanks for the clarity:sleeping_2:

    1 Cor. 16:2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.
    Acts 20:7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.
    Mark 16:9 Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

    The Lord rose on the first day of the week. The disciples met on the first day of the week. We meet on the first day of the week today as did the disciples.
