    C.H. Spurgeon is quoted as having said that he never rejected any from attending his pastor's college, regardless of his personal opinion of the level of intelligence of the candidate, nor did he necessarily reject one who disagreed fundamentally with him in doctrine, yet he did always and in every instance reject those who when asked of their particular doctrinal stand stated they were prepared to accept whatsoever doctrine he did hold and teach. Thus, he would say, a man unable to know what he by conviction believes must needs be returned to the Sunday School class until he is aware of and knows the foundations of the truths of Scripture and has by conviction made his stand on what he believes.
