An English professor wrote the following words on the chalkboard...

"A woman without her man is nothing"

...then asked his students to punctuate the sentence correctly.

All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."

All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

    Punctuation is powerful

Paul wrote in I Thess 4:13, "I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep..."

What if the translators had quoted Paul as saying, "I would not have you, ignorant brethren....."?

Years ago I recall reading an account that supposedly took place in the days of Czarist Russia.

It told of how the wife of the czar happened to notice a paper on the czar's desk with these words in the czar's handwriting scribbled on it:

PARDON IMPOSSIBLE, TO BE SENT TO SIBERIA

When she saw this, she decided to scratch out the comma and move it one word backwards. Thus the paper then read:

PARDON, IMPOSSIBLE TO BE SENT TO SIBERIA

I have no idea how true this story may be, but at least it made for interesting reading.
