Stop and think before you reply. Be honest.

    1. Have you spent more time here bickering over versions than you have telling the lost how to be saved?

    2. When was the last time you personally told someone verbally the gospel and gave them a tract outside of church?

    3. When was the last time you personally lead a stranger to Christ after you personally witnessed to them.

    4. Do you consider the great commission you saving the world from the KJV?

    5. Did the Holy Spirit convict you when you read this?

    6. If so or if not what are you going to do about it?

    Psr2,

By the way thanks for lightening up my afternoon! [IMG]

" Do you consider the great commission you saving the world from the KJV?"

C'mon now. I love the KJB and have one in my bible pack (along with the TR and BHS). We're trying to make sure that the lost people realize that Christianity is about Christ and not about a book.

Like I said, witnessing is more than anything living like Christ. If you are a beacon of kindness and gentleness in a lousy lost world people will want to know why!!

If you hand out little pieces of paper on the street corner and bluster about how everything nowadays is of Satan (bibles, music etc) you might get a pat on the back from your preacher - but you won't likely show Christ to very many people.

And by the way, you still didn't answer the questions in the other thread! ;) :D

That is the most pathetic response I could have imagined.

The fact that noone is actually answering the questions proves what I have been saying.

    Hey Psr2,

I think they're all out on the street corners with tracts yelling at people! Just like Jesus did...

    Just kidding!

As a general rule, I don't play into KJVO traps. That's why I'm not responding.

Charles your so called lifestyle evangelism is a pathetic excuse for being a coward. Look at the bible and see how it is that God used and uses preaching before you start mocking it.
Don't be a despiser of those that are good.
2 Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Stefanm it is not a trap it is honest questions.
The Holy Spirit convicted you when you read it so you will not answer.
Not answering will not go over at the judgement seat of Christ.

I'm always a sucker for their traps [IMG]

    Romans 11:29 (HCSB):
God's gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.

In 1956 I was called to salvation and given the same gift.
In 1976 I was called to minister to God's called
    after the manner of edification.
In 1984 I was given the gift of internet access.
I've spent all afternoon edifying God's workers
in the field. I have no regrets.

Yep I can tell you're a Christian! No mistaking it!

So you don't think we should try to live like Christ?

Living like Christ would include SPEAKING the gospel. Telling people how to be saved.
Charles if what your doing works so well answer the questions.
Boy I love it when God begins to prick the heart of people who neglect what he tells them to do from scripture.
I just sit back and listen to them make excuses.

Yep! The Baptist Board has quickly become an idol in my life! Think how many more MV's I could read if I didn't spend so much time here! [IMG]

Stop and think before you reply. Be honest.
    --------------------------------------------------

Yes. I will try my best.

    --------------------------------------------------
    1. Have you spent more time here bickering over versions than you have telling the lost how to be saved?
    --------------------------------------------------

Yes. Unfortunately I am guilty of this. I spend much more time in here sharing the truth that we have God's word 100% in our language with those bretheren/sister who don't believe it. I have been led to share this truth with my fellow christians. However, I am guilty of neglecting the witnessing I should be doing because of this. Thank you for asking these questions, so that I may look honestly about it and repent.

    --------------------------------------------------
    2. When was the last time you personally told someone verbally the gospel and gave them a tract outside of church?
    --------------------------------------------------

The last time I personally told verbally the gospel, were my children and my husband, my neices and nephews (when I see them/talk with them), almost daily. However on occasion, and when I feel led, I share it with others. The last stranger I shared the gospel with was the Sears repair man who recently came to fix our dryer. I don't get out of my house much.

As far as tracts, I am a fairly new christian, and don't really know what these are, nor where I am to find them. I would be interested to know. I have seen on occasion people handing out what looks like business cards, but with the scriptures on them. Are these what you speak of? Yes, I need to start doing this. Unfortunately, the majority of my family is unsaved, and they won't even let me talk about Jesus Christ or the gospel. They cut me off. I do though, every time I speak with them, or see them tell them about Jesus Christ, and hopefully my life example will help them. I always pray for them also.

    --------------------------------------------------
    3. When was the last time you personally lead a stranger to Christ after you personally witnessed to them.
    --------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately, to my knowledge I haven't. However, it was shortly after my salvation, that I was able to lead my Dad to the Lord and He is now saved. But I don't think this had anything to do with me. I led him to a book, to which after he read it, he was saved. However, the Lord has used me to help him come out of some deceptive things in his christian life. I praise the Lord for what he has shown my Dad, and for pulling him out of the deception.

    --------------------------------------------------
    4. Do you consider the great commission you saving the world from the KJV?
    --------------------------------------------------

I don't, as I believe the KJB is the word of God perfectly for the English speaking people. Do I consider the great commission for me to save the world from the mv's? No, but I believe that it is my christian duty and love to help those fellow christians who are being deceived, with the truth.

-------------------------------------------------- 5. Did the Holy Spirit convict you when you read this?
    --------------------------------------------------

Yes. He did. He convicted me of realizing that I might be spending too much time here on this debate over and above that of which He intended. That I should repent, and do more in the line of witnessing to others. I pray He will help me to do this.

    --------------------------------------------------
    6. If so or if not what are you going to do about it?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will repent and pray, pray that he burden my heart further for the lost, and trust the Lord's leading and make more efforts to share the gospel with the lost.

Love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,
    michelle

I'd agree - I'm certainly not afraid to speak the gospel.

It just sounds to me like you're in the cymbal-tinkling business!

Great post! I'll be suprized if it is not pulled off the board though, when ever I tried witnessing to people in this forum, I was rebuked, and almost kicked off the BB. I was told you can not question someones standing with God, but isn't that what we are suposed to do, and if someone is Born-again, why would they get offended instead of take it like a compliment that someone cares enough about you to tell you about the saveing knowlage of Christ, or see what there approach on witnessing is, so we could learn to witness more effectivly.

Well thank God a couple of folks responded well. If Michelle seeks God and gets to work it will be worth it.
Others will continue to scoff and make excuses.

Michell, haveing a tract ministry is great, you don't have to personaly hand them out, you can leave one at a pulic pay phone, or in a car window, or some other place you think someone may pick one up, and read it, a public restroom stall is another great place, gives people something to read while doing their busniess. You can get them at your church, or a christian book store, or even online, if you have a unique approach you can even make your own! another place you can look is online at: Bible tracts check out the Supertracts Sample pack, has many to choose from.

    Romans 11:29 (HCSB):
God's gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.

Romans 11:29 (KJV1769) For the gifts and calling
    of God are without repentance.

These both say the same thing,
the HCSB in words we 21st Century inhabitants
understand; the other in 18th Century lingo.
Next time I witness to a 18th Century person
    i'll use the KJV1769.
