Duh. I'm stunned that the scientists are all so amazed. Hellooooo. The salmon as well as birds and other sea creatures are probably all affected too, not to mention the debris that is ending up along some of our shore lines. Not to mention rivers that empty into the Pacific.

Some of us are not scientists but use God-given logic and common sense.

Oh, and speaking of tuna and shrimp and other seafood that comes from China and Philippines - they are a whole lot closer than the USA, but I don't imagine any of our fearless FDA, EPA, etc. people ever thought about that, as we import fish/seafood from those nations by the billions of pounds a year to be consumed in our restaurants and homes in the USA.

So no need to panic. We've probably all been ingesting radioactivity all along unless we eat homegrown seafood, which is pretty hard to find on supermarket shelves and in restaurants.

Next time you're at the grocer and checking out the seafood (fresh or frozen), check the country of origin and you'll see what I mean. Ecuador, Chile, we import fish from them, too, and those are Pacific coastal waters.....

You are so right LadyEagle.....what else do fish do in that great big body of water which is really the earth's lifeblood......breed and get consumed all the way up the food chain.

Nuclear power is insane (IMHO), it is like having a bonfire managed by very young kiddies. Why oh why.....mankind never seems to learn. Surely wobbly places like Japan could utilise the sea for power generating, or the wind or........
