Real Benghazi Story Ignored As Clinton Flip Flops On Anti-Islam Video

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has followed Obama’s showy capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala in Libya by stating she was not sure if an inflammatory video with questionable origin led to the attack on the CIA annex in Benghazi.

“My own assessment careened from the video had something to do with it, the video had nothing to do with it — it may have affected some people, it didn’t affect other people,” Clinton told Fox News. “This was the fog of war.”
“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” a statement by Clinton posted on the Department of State web site the day of the attack states.

Clinton’s vacillation follows an earlier assertion published in the Benghazi chapter of her recent book that she was out of the loop on security at the compound where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans died.

The claim is disputed by waivers Clinton signed overriding concerns that the facility in Benghazi did not meet the minimum requirements necessary for security.

Attack Was Blowback Related to CIA Arms to Syria Op

Left unmentioned in the corporate media circus sideshow around Clinton’s narrative modification is the fact Ambassador Stevens and the CIA were engaged in an operation to transfer weapons used by al-Qaeda and affiliated groups in Libya to al-Qaeda affiliated groups in Syria (and, subsequently, to ISIS in Iraq).

A highly classified annex to a Senate Intelligence Committee report on the attack not made public “described a secret agreement reached in early 2012 between the Obama and [Turkish Prime Minister] Erdoğan administrations,” writes Seymour Hersh. “It pertained to the rat line [transferring weapons from Libya]. By the terms of the agreement, funding came from Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabia and Qatar; the CIA, with the support of MI6, was responsible for getting arms from Gaddafi’s arsenals into Syria.”
