I agree with you, except personally I would replace the NIV with the ASV of 1901... [IMG]

Same ones only different order, assumming yours were in order. I only placed the NKJV above the NASB because that is the only translation that the Macarthur Study Bible comes in. Also, most Preachers in our area still preach out of the KJV.

    NKJV
    NASB
    KJV
    AV 1611
    GENEVA
    NIV

I haven't read any of the newer ones such as HCSB, so I cannot offer any correct opinion on them.

Alexander, in looking back I see only two of us in this thread listed an NLT at all, and not in our top choices, so I am unsure as to the popularity. No one else that I know of uses one in my church, I bought mine to have an easy reading version in my car; I read it when I am on the road and want a Bible that is easy to read when I have a few minutes to grab it (between sales calls, etc). If I am going to have time to really study when I am on the road I bring my HCSB or NKJV (those I usually keep in my office at home). I find the NLT is easy to read and (with a few exceptions I have come across) I think it is accurate for a paraphrase type translation. Bruce
