    bapmom, "Power of a Praying Wife" is by Stormie Omartian. I have heard from several now that is an excellent book and it is on my list of books to read.

    Yes, its very challenging and frankly, it developed my understanding of the meaning of "specific" when it comes to praying.

    Another good one is by Dr Laura is "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". Mrs Johnv read that, and let's just say I'm properly cared for and fed. [​IMG] </font>[/QUOTE]I hadn't heard of that one.....Im sure my own hubby would appreciate that one, also!

    My daughter is reading Ravi Zacharias' "Can Man Live Without God?" (pretty sure that's the name)for a college philosophy class...she's eating it up.

    I had no idea Ravi Zacharias has written a book! I listen to him on the radio every Sunday morning and he is such a good preacher. Im going to be looking for that one.

    Guess what I found at our church library tonight? Power of a Praying Wife and Power of a Praying Parent with the study guide books to go along with them. I need them both!!
    I love Ravi Zacharias' preaching also and he's one of my daughter's favorites as well so she was really excited about this class.

    Pamela, Thats great! I actually borrowed the Power of a Praying Wife from a friend of mine and had to give it back, of course. Now we don't live near each other, so I need to find my own copy.

    Desiring God by John Piper is a good read.

    And would concur that every Christian should carefully read Purpose Driven Life, maybe with a yellow highlighter, and find something on every page. There is way more there than I found in a cursory reading.

    The New Tolerance by Josh McDowell and Twelve Steps for the Recovering Pharisee by John Fischer are also top drawer.
