Some questions from your resident ignorant limey:-

    1. Why are Republican states 'red' states, when red is traditionally associated with communism and socialism?

    2. Conversely, why are Democrat states 'blue' since blue, at least over here, is a colour associated with conservatism?

    3. Why do I ask such irritating and tedious questions?

    Yours in Christ

I wonder the same thing. Even political campaign signs are traditionally red for Democrats and blue for Republicans, generally.

It sure confused me - I have been gone for 10 years so was surpised at the colour change. Maybe the problem is that it really doesn't make a difference?

[IMG] Wouldn't it be funny if for 2008 we could convince them to show both parties in the same color?

Obviously, Barry Goldwater would have called anyone who voted for Bush a leftist at very least. The republican party, having gotten a taste of big government and socialism, has decided it likes it.

Red is definitely the right color now, although it wouldn't have been a decade ago.

They've been the opposite here, and even mixed for the last ten years...LOL I don't understand it myself. A color is a color is a color.

Pennsylvania Jim is gonna fall at the feet of Dub-ya and lick his shoes and put a big ole buff shine on them----gonna make Dub-ya a Sunday School teacher-----that is, in 2008 when Hillary wins the nomination and election----God help us all then----Penn Jim will be beggin' for Dub-ya to return!!!!

Just 4 short years, PennJim---and you will get your way----just hang in there for 4 years---and then we will say, "Jim, we told ya so!!" and you'll be hollerin' at us----"You were right! You were right!!" when Miss Priss gets in the White House and takes us down the toilet with her!!---you ain't seen nothin' yet---

Let's hope the "lady" doesn't get into the White House again as President. Lord help us if she does. Then I WILL move to Canada!

If PennJim's dream comes true---she will!!!!!

But here's Blackbird's plan if she does

Skip the country----write my congressman(Honorable Trent Lott) and tell him I no longer wish to be a US citizen---then declare myself to be a citizen of the mighty country of Mexico(with full honors)----swim across the Rio Grande---hook up with a job as an illegle---wire the Bula-Bula back to my wife and children while I live like a Gepsy----then when my wife has enough for us to be millionairs in Mexico---I get me an appointment to see Hillary----kiss her smack on the lips---tell her it was honor to be working in America under her hubby's NAFTA rule---under her supervision---but now it was time for Blackbird to return home---Adios, Ameeee-gos!!!

I know the Dems here are already starting to get ready for her to run. Some of the old timers are saying it is inevitable that she will run and win and spend 8 years there. This is coming from Republicans also.

There is really little difference between the policies implemented by Bush and Clinton (either Clinton).

But it's not my way. I vote for people who believe in Christian ethics and Constitutional government.
