OH! Mystery solved on both parts. I wouldn't have guessed Presbryterians.

I'm glad you don't eat strings either -- they can't be too healthy!

    I love the mandolin.

I don't know...the church I went to when I was little was Freewill Baptist, and full of rednecks. But then again most churches around here are full of rednecks regardless of denomination. :D
I think you're right about that atestring.

Cool story, thanks for sharing! [IMG]

All of Scotland would be Church of England and I would have no excuse for keeping an old truck behind the barn.

    atestring,

First of all, it ain't a van. It's a pickup with a cap and two old couches in the box. Second of all, we lost the back window when we were throwin' in the firewood. Third of all, gun racks scratch the blueing so we keep the guns in cases. [IMG] :D [IMG]

It sounds like a wonderful church. It is thoughtful to offer a couch.
I like the heart of a servant that threw the firewood.
It is also considerate to put your guns in cases.

Some churches give free inkpens to visitors and i was at a church that gave me a coffee mug because they "MUG" all visitors.
I bet yall give free REDMAN to your visitors.

South of Buffalo. Does that count?

No to the Redman. It might lead to dancing! [IMG]

Nope. I'm an IFB that has wandered from the herd, so to speak. Raised IFB, spent 13 years pastoring in the UMC, a year with the Nazarenes and in May will become the founding pastor of a church that is SBC in nearly every respect except name and association.

For all y'all that thinks New York is nothing but concrete here's a picture of the front yard at deer camp.

I can take you on a hike from where this picture is taken and you won't cross a road in 8 miles!

    Well pad,
you havve been Ifb and UMC, and Nazarene and will be SBc. Why not convince your church to be presbryterian and take the couch in the vn with you . At least wear a red collar.

I'm just a mutt! My Daddy's Dutch Reformed, Mama's Primitive Methodist, madre's Free Methodist and I'm decended from Roger Williams - the Rhode Island one not the piano player. My neck is red enough without the collar. [IMG]

The a lot of the folks will be coming out of the UMC (from about four churches in a 15 mile radius). They've had it with top heavy denominations and the growing disparity between the national organization and simple, hardworking, God-fearing folks. There may be a time for associating in the future but I really think they are looking forward to being able to focus on being a church and not a cash cow for a denominatiuon that doesn't share their beliefs in doctrine and practice.

Rednecks certainly have their roots in a lot of forms of Baptists.

Especially the way some hang to business meetings.
