Rep. Hastings.....Speaking too hastily?

I know that this kind of ridiculous jabberwocky goes on all of the time from both parties, but yesterday was much too serious of a day to be spouting off at the mouth and bragging that Congress just makes up the rules as they go.

I know that Republicans can sound just as silly. So please don't post any Republicanisms here. Start your own thread.

This thread is about this quote only and why he said it and did he really mean to say it in front of a camera.

I was taken aback yesterday at the brashness of the statement. Am I just naive?
