I just glanced through it because it was SOOOO hard to read.

New Age Bible Versions was a joke of a book.

Riplinger is way beyond a joke. The mere fact that her tripe is printed is a testimony to the hatred she and others of her ilk try to spread.

What bothers me most is how she tried to turn good men into heretics.

Her point is, IMHO, she's merely trying to sell boox, using a form of sensationalism. I don't believe she actually cares one pi-meson about Bible versions either way. Like Joey Smith did almost 200 years ago, she's found a religious thingie to sell to the gullible, and the TRUTH of the issue be dipped!

Riplinger is currently busy alienating everyone she can. She is now suing erstwhile supporters like D. A. Waite of the Dean Burgon Society (and other preachers, I believe). The DBS used to carry all of her stuff, but has dropped her completely. The origin of the break? Riplinger allegedly lying to Waite, in particular about her two divorces. (She's still married to sucker #3.)

Interestingly enough, H. D. Williams, the heir apparent of the DBS, was brought to a KJVO position through Riplinger. I'm not sure Williams has personally abandoned Riplinger yet, but I may be wrong. Waite recently had a heart attack, and though I wish him good health it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the DBS in regards to Riplinger.

Check out the article about this by Phil Stringer on the DBS website: http://www.deanburgonsociety.org/PDF/StringerToRiplinger.101.pdf. He calls Riplinger bitter, divisive, "A frustrated preacher, a female Pharisee, a self-absorbed woman who wants to preach to everyone." Whew!

Virtually all I know about Riplinger came from the Baptist Board.

A couple of years ago there was a booth at the Sword of the Lord conference giving away (yeah, free) copies of her book "In Awe of Thy Word: Understanding the King James Bible." That was my first exposure to her. Never heard of her before that.

I use KJV exclusively so I thought it would be a good read.

Anyway, I was able to get most of the way through the book before I couldn't take it anymore. I don't have details now (it's been too many months) but I just recall one faulty argument after another trying to "prove" that the KJV was perfect and all other translations were the spawn of the devil. It just seemed full of hate (no love) and a bunch of faulty logic. Also, I thought it strange at the time that I couldn't find the author's first name in the book. Now I think she was hiding the fact that she was a woman.

If you to read her boox & check out the misquotes of other authors in them, as well as the non-veracity of her KJVO stuff, you'd see why we Freedom readers don't think mucha her worx.

That is kind of my point Robycop3. I learned enough here.

On the other hand, if we discuss her junky prose too much it makes her seem more important than she is. As some say "Bad press is better than no press at all." So I wonder - what percentage of her books are sold to folks who want to debunk her?

I don't want to increase her sales by even one book.

I don't wanna give her one penny. I got NABV from a flea mkt.

IMO, she's just another charlatan on the order of Benny Hinn, etc.

You don't have to read her books. She's on YouTube speaking about them so you can see her in action. *ahem*

I can guarentee her view would change if she studied as a JW. Go read that bible, and then come back and tell me that the NIV, ESV, NASB are completely doctrinally different than the KJV. Please, she needs to fight against those that deny the Deity of Christ, rather than to fight a KJVO position. In my opinion, it is time wasted.

I am to the point where I can't even respect anyone who follows her at all. The church that my wife grew up in still has NABV on the book table in the back.

I asked the pastor about that once and he admitted that he had not even read it, yet he continues to defend her.

Wow! That's a dangerous practice to defend things you haven't checked out.

    Too sad.
